Powered by a Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller, the MIDI MULTI TOOL converts MIDI messages into four separate CV/Gate/Modulation outputs. This allows users to control analog synthesizer parameters using MIDI-compatible devices, offering flexibility in sound design and performance.
Beyond MIDI translation, the module features multiple MIDI thru ports, synchronization options, and potentiometer control integration. It's a practical solution for engineers and electronic musicians seeking to expand the capabilities of their modular synth setups.
The MIDI-MULTI-TOOL was created with in mind the goal to become the Swiss knife of MIDI to CVs signal for Eurorack. Most of the module in the market were only providing one MIDI input to one CV/Gate output. In the MIDI-MULTI-TOOL, I took the room needed (36hp) to fit 5 MIDI thru, 4 full CV/Gate/Mod output and two sync signal output.
With all the room left on the module, a simple but powerful UI was implemented with 4 buttons and a OLED screen. In addition, 4 CVs signals were added, one controlled by a LDR and 3 controlled by potentiometers or external motorized potentiometers.
